Rekeying and Master Keys
Moved into a new home, lost a set of keys, or had staff or tenants leave? Fort Locks can rekey your locks so old keys no longer work, or set up a master key system so the right people have access to the right doors.
Rekeying
Rekeying changes the inside of a lock so it works with a new key. Your existing lock stays on the door, but any old keys stop working. It’s usually quicker and more affordable than replacing the whole lock.
When to rekey:
- You’ve just moved into a new home or business
- Keys have been lost or stolen (if you’re locked out, see our lockout service)
- Tenants, staff or contractors have moved on
- You want one key to open all your doors
Lock Changes When You Move In
You never know how many copies of the old keys are out there. We can rekey or replace your locks when you move in, and cut new keys for everyone in the household.
Master Key Systems
A master key system lets one key open many locks, while each other key opens only the doors it needs to. It’s ideal for businesses, schools, councils, strata and rental properties.
Restricted keys: We can set your system up with restricted keys that can only be copied with your authorisation, so you always know who has access.
